Food is a very important part of our Italian culture, which we would like to share with you. My dad, Ray Parrella is a Brooklyn boy and food is one thing, which Italians can talk to anyone about. His mother, my grandmother Nana was one of the most wonderful Italian home cooks there ever was & when you crave real Italian cooking nothing else tastes quite the same. In fact it was my Nana’s cooking that inspired my dad to enter the world of restaurant business. When you’re around great Italian food all your life, naturally you want others to enjoy it. That takes a special recipe, mix a lot of experience, add the spice of good service, throw in a lot of liking for people and before you know it you’ve got a restaurant and customers to be proud of. On my nana’s first visit to the restaurant my dad presented her with his own Italian meal. As he waited with great anticipation, Nana Rose smiled, gave her nod of approval and congratulated him on the delightful seasonings. What a thrilling moment that must have been for my father. It’s my dads philosophy that with a pound of pasta an Italian can make magic. The Parrella family would like to share with you our authentic Italian dishes of which we are so proud.


A Little History
Ray Parrella’s has been serving the Louisville & southern Indiana area since 1961. The Parrella family is dedicated in perfecting our sauces & pasta’s. We strive to use the best ingredients to perfect our entrees. Food is a very important part of our Italian culture and we would like to share that with you. Ray was inspired to cook by our grandmother, Nana Rose. She was the typical Italian grandmother, always making sure that there was plenty of pasta and” gravy” along with her Italian desserts.
Ramona Parrella has inherited the gift of cooking knowledge from my grandmother, Nana Rose. She can taste a dish and know exactly what it needs. Not a lot of people can do this.
